Newly constructed or altered government facilities, public accommodations and commercial facilities are required to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards for Accessible Design. The guidelines went into effect in 2010 and impact new constructions or alterations slated for March 15, 2012 or later.
