The "original" water-based adhesive for the skin. It adheres for long periods without irritation. Pros-Aide® is the leading adhesive used for medical prosthetic applications. Pros-Aide® is the standard in the industry for adhering appliances and other make-up components to skin. It is safe to use on all skin including sensitive areas. It gives a strong bond and has high water resistance. It is non-toxic and completely safe.

Pros-Aide® has been used in thousands of projects in filming major motion pictures, stage and TV.

Instructions for Adhesion of Maxillofacial Prostheses:

  1. Shake well before opening.
  2. Clean skin and prosthesis with rubbing alcohol.
  3. Apply 1 thin layer of adhesive with a cotton applicator stick. Let dry completely until clear.
  4. Repeat with a second layer.
  5. Apply the prosthesis in the correct position and hold for 10 seconds.
  6. To remove prosthesis, gently peel from one corner and pull from skin. Clean skin with mineral oil, then use soap and water. Clean prosthesis with rubbing alcohol.

Additional Suggestions:

  • To decrease setting time of the adhesive, add 1 teaspoon of isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) to the Pros-Aide® Adhesive bottle and shake well.
  • If the adhesive remains on the prosthesis and it is clean, leave the adhesive for a second day. Add only 1 additional layer of new adhesive before reapplying the prosthesis.
  • If you have difficulty in removing the adhesive from the prosthesis, soak prosthesis in warm water for 10 minutes. The remaining adhesive should roll off the silicone. Use rolling action, rather than pulling.
  • Be sure to wash hands prior to handling prosthesis.

Please Note:
Pros-Aide® and latex products being shipped during cold weather months have the potential to freeze and then will turn solid. To help avoid this, we suggest shipment via FedEx 2 Day or FedEx Overnight service from approximately November through April. However, ordering during these cold weather months is at your own risk and PNTA will not be responsible for product that has been ruined due to freezing during shipment.
